Signs You Need a New Water Heating Equipment

16 Mar

Spring may be here, but that doesn’t mean you can manage without water heating equipment. After all, even as temperatures begin to rise, you need hot water for the shower, laundry, cooking, and others. You may have been thinking that you need a new water heater, but how do you know for sure? Here are a few red flags to watch out for.

Water is not hot enough

This may be a Captain Obvious-esque hint that it’s time for a new water heater. However, there are some homeowners who think this is not a big deal and put the problem off until such time that they are in dire need of hot water. Don’t wait for this to happen. Have your system checked if it is not functioning as it should, and get a replacement if it is beyond repair.

Muddy or dirty water

If the water coming out of your taps and faucets is muddy, you can try turning off your water heating unit and draining all the content out. Sediments may have settled at the bottom of the tank. If this does not work, then it may be time to be time to buy a new water heater.

Leaking

A water tank with a small drip is typically not a cause for alarm. You may even be successful in fixing it yourself. However, if the leaking is severe, it’s probably time to replace your unit. A leaking water heater can lead to water damage in your home.
